You can delete your Meetup Club account and personal data at any time — no email back-and-forth, no waiting. This page explains exactly what happens and gives you three ways to do it.
What gets deleted
We erase everything that identifies you:
- your email address and display name;
- every sign-in method — Google, Apple, Facebook, and GitHub links, passkeys, recovery codes, and active sessions;
- your member profile, and any push-notification subscriptions.
We keep a stripped, anonymized record of past gatherings (so an event you hosted or attended doesn’t vanish from other people’s history) — but with no personal data attached; it simply reads as “a member.” This is the standard “anonymize, don’t orphan” approach.
1. Delete it yourself (fastest)
2. Remove the app from Facebook
If you signed in with Facebook, removing Meetup Club from your Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites automatically tells us to delete your data — Facebook sends us a signed deletion request, we erase your data, and Facebook shows you a confirmation code you can check back here.
3. Ask us
Email [email protected] from the address on your account and we’ll erase it for you, typically within 30 days (usually far sooner).
Questions about what we hold and why? See our Privacy Policy. This is your right to erasure under the GDPR and CCPA/CPRA.
